What is Qt Contributors Summit?

Qt Contributors Summit is a yearly gathering of the people that contribute to the Qt Project. We meet to discuss technical topics as well as the project's structure, ways of working, and governance. For notes from past summits, see the page with all the notes.

Tips for travellers

Before traveling to Oslo

• no need for vaccinations or cash
• much need for checking the weather forecast and packing all-weather clothes - there might be snow!
• Norway follows EU regulations wrt mobile phone roaming
• Install the "Ruter" app for public transport tickets: https://ruter.no/en/om-vare-billetter/buy-tickets-here
• Uber and Bolt operate in Oslo, but typically not worth it - taxi is generally expensive

Travel to Oslo

• Probably arrive by plane at Oslo International Airport (OSL) "Gardermoen"
• Probably worth getting a week-ticket (in the Ruter app) for Zone 1 (~35 EUR)
• Take regular regional train to Oslo S (central station) - RE10, RE11, or R12, typically form track 4
  • Buy a one-trip extension for Zone 4N to your week-ticket in the Ruter app
• More expensive, but not necessarily more convenient alternatives:
  • Take the one of the busses (check lines and buy ticket at https://flybussen.no)
  • Take the flytoget express train to Oslo S
• From Oslo S, public transport is likely to get you close to your hotel

Getting around Oslo

• Ruter ticket includes subway (tban == tunnel-ban), tram (trikk), bus, and ferries
• It's generally safe to walk, and many things are in walking distance. But ^^ about weather.
• tban lines 4 and 5 go to Nydalen (Qt offices)
• tban lines go to Majorstuen (reMarkable offices)
• the Ruter app will show you travel options from where you are to where you want to be
